Challenge

After the installation of the facilities, a crack appeared in the machine base during the commissioning period, leading to a dispute between the design firm and the contractor. It was necessary to accurately determine the cause of the fault.

Project

  • Applied Machine: Large Reciprocating Compressor
  • On-site, ExRBM and ExRBM Portable+ were installed, and vibration data was acquired and analyzed from a total of 24 points on the machine.

Result

  • The analysis accurately identified the design error made by the design firm as the cause of the fault.
  • Through a comprehensive diagnostic report exceeding 120 pages, the design firm acknowledged the design error, resolving the dispute.
